Ouch!
I have more to talk about today!
First of all, I passed my glucose tolerance test with flying colors. I called on Monday, and the receptionist called back and just left a message saying that it was normal. They put my results online a day or two later, and I was within the limits at every blood draw, even the one hour! I was amazed! My level was lower at the one hour mark on this test (even with drinking more of the stuff) than it was on the first test. I was very excited about this.
Second, I have been in so much more pain this time than last time. I forgot to mention it here before, but at Sara's wedding in May, I overheated a little and had horrible, painful contractions. Ever since then, I have had tons of contractions, some pretty painful. I remember having Braxton-Hicks contractions when I was pregnant before, but not anything painful until clear at the end of my pregnancy and not as painful as this. I also remember feeling pressure and my pubic bone hurting toward the end, but I have had pressure and pain there for a month or two this time around. Several times, it has been painful enough to scare me. The other night, I woke up feeling sick like I might have diarrhea. I never did, but I was having very painful cramps and contractions to the point that I almost woke up Tony.
Sara came home from Nashville last weekend, so she and Sarah Marlow did a sneak ultrasound on me at Marietta. The baby is already head down, which could explain the pressure since Evan didn't turn until a little later. She also said that my fluid was borderline again, which could explain why my contractions hurt more. She said it was around 8 cm, which is more than when they put me off work. I'm trying to decide if I want to alert Dr. H about this or just wait until I have my ultrasound next. I think I should have one at the end of the month maybe.
Anyway, I am not-so-patiently waiting. I am 31 weeks, so I have 9 more until my due date. It seems like an eternity.

Results
I failed. Again. Grrr... I have to do the glucose tolerance test on Wednesday next week. Mom is going to go with me so that I don't have to drive back by myself. So at least there's that.

Glucose screening
I had my one hour glucose screening yesterday. I don't know if I passed yet, but I am really hoping I did. I had a bad sugar crash with it this time...so bad that I couldn't even think of the appropriate responses to customers' questions at work. But, I had no sugar or carbs the day before, just protein and vegetables, and I didn't eat anything before I went, so I failed, there was nothing else I could do.
I am also broke out in a terrible rash on my left side...very itchy and annoying. Dr. H said to just use hydro-cortisone cream or to take Benadryl if I was really miserable. The cream helps for an hour or so, and then it itches like crazy again.I'm also having very painful contractions off and on. I asked about that, too, and he said it was normal. I don't remember doing that last time, so I'm hoping it means maybe my body will be more ready for labor this go-around. 12 weeks to go and appointments every two weeks now.

Ultrasound photo
Photo from my ultrasound at the end of February. Looks just like Evan did, but I guess we will see when he's here.
Uneventful times
I feel like I should be writing more about this pregnancy because I wrote so much last time, but there was way more drama last time. This pregnancy has been very uneventful, and I'm not complaining about that.
I'm feeling lots of kicks now all the time, and starting to get pretty uncomfortable, too. It seems like this baby hangs out pretty low most of the time because I have a lot more pressure this time than I remember from my pregnancy with Evan. I've also been getting fat fingers and toes when it is hot outside. I HATE that.
My next appointment is in about two weeks, and I have my glucose test that day. Blech. Hoping for normal results this time. And no earthquakes during the test.

It's a boy!
I had an ultrasound today, and it was once again very obviously a boy! I was going to be thrilled either way, and I am very excited to know so I can get started working on a nursery. Pics will follow whenever I am feeling less lazy.
Everything looked perfect, too - three vessel cord, four chamber heart, and so on. They were able to get all of the views that they needed this time, so we don't have to go back for a repeat or anything. I am so relieved!
